Zoë Fairbairns, novelist, short story writer, poet, radio writer, playwright, journalist and teacher, was born and grew up in the south of England. She was educated at St Catherine's Convent, Twickenham, the University of St Andrews, and the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia, USA. She lives in London.

Her particular interests include - but are not limited to - feminism and sexual politics, contemporary writing, and religion seen from a secular viewpoint.

Zoë Fairbairns has lectured at universities throughout the world including Deakin University, Australia, the University of Havana, Cuba, and the University of Minnesota, USA.
